New Lucid City Character Sheet
Work continues to expand Lucid City into a world-swallowing ecumenopolis – er, full sized game.
The #1 bit feedback from the first round of playtests was that no one could make sense of the character sheet. The blame falls squarely on me, as I made it, and attempted something a little high concept. Too high. Low orbit, really.
Most complaints were about the “skill tower” doom meter hybrid: 1) There was one line per number, but multiple skills had to have the same value, 2) The skills went to 20, but no skill went above 16, and 3) The Doom meter was too confusing to use.
In all the playtest games, I don’t believe a single person opted to use the character sheet.
So, back to the old drawing board!
The new sheet incorporates a nifty “skyscraper” design, and hopefully will be slightly more user friendly, in that someone will actually use it. :D
Next up, a full description of every skill to reference at the table, and maybe a few possible rules tweaks.
